ORIENTEERING CAMP ON SWEDEN`S WEST COAST

We have long welcomed various types of orienteering clubs and associations. Daftö Resort is surrounded by a characteristic terrain with coastal landscape and large forest. Challenge yourself in new orienteering terrain characterized by the salty winds of the West Coast. While living comfortably in modern cabins, you have access to your own conference department and a large range of activities.

Varied terrain

Many people associate the West Coast with bare and salt-sprinkled stone landscapes. But, that is not the whole truth.

Around our facility there are deep forests and rugged mountains. This varied terrain will challenge beginners as well as experienced orienteers.

Everything you need

At Daftö Resort there is everything you could possibly need during your stay. Accommodation in nice cabins, restaurant, modern conference center and much more.

All facilities are easily accessible, and you can easily keep the group together as you move between different places on the resort.

Activities and time together

The facility offers a wide range of group activities; everything from the adventurous kind to the slightly more relaxed.

All activities are adapted so that you get as much time together as possible. Of course, we can also tailor activities for you.

The landmarks around us

When you think of the West Coast, your thoughts may automatically go to cliffs and seas. This is certainly true to a certain extent, although the terrains of reality are considerably more varied than that.

The coastal pine forests on the islands in northern Bohuslän are unique to the west coast, and limited to the northernmost parts. East of Havstenssund, at Västbacken, you will find these forests. They continue north over Resö, Galtö, Råssö, Tjärnö, Saltö, Öddö all the way to our Norwegian neighbors. The majority of these islands consist of pine forests, which is perfect for orientation.

Sankmarker are not so common here, compared to other places in Sweden. There are a few larger bogs, which have similarities to bogs found further north in the country.

In the south-eastern parts of Strömstad there are some grassy areas on solid forest land, which are limited to higher elevations with a gentler slope.
