ORIENTEERING CAMP ON SWEDEN`S WEST COAST

We have long welcomed various types of orienteering clubs and associations. Daftö Resort is surrounded by a characteristic terrain with coastal landscape and large forest. Challenge yourself in new orienteering terrain characterized by the salty winds of the West Coast. While living comfortably in modern cabins, you have access to your own conference department and a large range of activities.

Varied terrain

Many people associate the West Coast with bare and salt-sprinkled stone landscapes. But, that is not the whole truth.

Around our facility there are deep forests and rugged mountains. This varied terrain will challenge beginners as well as experienced orienteers.

Everything you need

At Daftö Resort there is everything you could possibly need during your stay. Accommodation in nice cabins, restaurant, modern conference center and much more.

All facilities are easily accessible, and you can easily keep the group together as you move between different places on the resort.

The facility offers a wide range of group activities; everything from the adventurous kind to the slightly more relaxed.

All activities are adapted so that you get as much time together as possible. Of course, we can also tailor activities for you.

Active local club and maps for orientation

Active local club, Idefjordens Sportklubb

We cooperate with the local orienteering club Idefjordens Sportklubb, which has extensive experience in organizing competitions. The club also has the opportunity to coordinate training with your association during the stay at Daftö Resort.

Maps for orienteering

Idefjordens Sportklubb has nine current maps. Many of them have been revised and expanded in recent years. Some of the maps have been used, among other things, in the WC, SM Lång and Strömstadsmedeln.

The landmarks around us

When you think of the West Coast, your thoughts may automatically go to cliffs and seas. This is certainly true to a certain extent, although the terrains of reality are considerably more varied than that.

The coastal pine forests on the islands in northern Bohuslän are unique to the west coast, and limited to the northernmost parts. East of Havstenssund, at Västbacken, you will find these forests. They continue north over Resö, Galtö, Råssö, Tjärnö, Saltö, Öddö all the way to our Norwegian neighbors. The majority of these islands consist of pine forests, which is perfect for orientation.

Sankmarker are not so common here, compared to other places in Sweden. There are a few larger bogs, which have similarities to bogs found further north in the country.

In the south-eastern parts of Strömstad there are some grassy areas on solid forest land, which are limited to higher elevations with a gentler slope.

Build the community and have fun together. At the facility you will find both adventurous and slightly more relaxing activities. Everything from a visit to the Daftöland amusement park, shrimp trawling, padel, cooking in our restaurant Packhuset and much more.

SPORTS PACKAGES AND PRICES

Here are suggestions for packages. These are valid until 15/6 and from 15/8. In other words, the most optimal weeks to complete a group trip to Daftö. Contact us to tailor a plan for your group.

If you visit us between 1/6-1/9, pool bathing is also included.

Sports package - children and youth

Weld the team together with a training camp on Daftö. You live in state-of-the-art cabins where breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the price and you have the opportunity to choose both activities and sports arenas.
